What makes a great leader? Is it humility? Is it being bold? Maybe their ability to cast a vision? One of Judah’s youngest kings, Josiah, had these traits and so much more. Pastor Tony Pyle shares how King Josiah led his people back to properly worshipping God and turning from false idols. Through his actions, we are able to see that a good king 1) protects his people from idols, 2) takes ownership of sin and 3) is obedient to God. King Josiah’s character points us to Jesus Christ, who fulfills these three traits to perfection. 2 Chronicles 33-34
Knowledge is facts and information an individual possesses, while wisdom is how we utilize our knowledge to make certain decisions. In Scripture, God tells us that both are important to seek out. But even if we have all the knowledge and wisdom, is that enough to thrive on earth? Pastor James Granger shares the life of King Solomon, who is known to be the wisest man to ever live, and his ultimate downfall as a sinful man. This reminder brings the Israelites to remember that their hope is to rest in God alone. 2 Chronicles

For the Christian, not only do we seek out knowledge from the Bible and everyday knowledge, but we also lean into our faith in God. Pastor Noel Jesse Heikkinen shares the story of two women who live out their faith in God. Through this, we are able to see that it is our faith that drives us to act in goodness, wait patiently with hope, and believe in who God is. 2 Kings

When it comes to belief systems, current cultural standing says that everyone’s belief is true. The temptation to go back-and-forth from believing in one thing and then another is constantly in front of us. How do you react when you experience this? Pastor Noel Jesse Heikkinen shares the story of the prophet Elijah and how God sustained him as he convinced the Israelites to turn back to God. Even in the face of persecution and wavering belief systems, we see how God continues to uphold Himself through it all. 1 Kings

The purpose of the book of Ruth is to authenticate that Jesus Christ does come from the Davidic line. Through this lens, we are able to see specific characteristics of God. Young Yi shares how God’s graciousness, sovereignty, redemptive heart, provisions, and faithfulness shine brightly in the story of Ruth. Through this story, we can see how God anchors the future of Jesus Christ to come through the line of David and ultimately save the world by dying on the cross. Ruth
