Covering Everything Sports In Dayton & Cincinnati, Ohio

I'm Lee W. Mowen and I run "The Cincinnati and Dayton Sports Podcast."

I wanted to start this podcast because I felt local sports weren't being covered. It's a podcast that celebrates sports in Southwest Ohio, for people that appreciate sports of all sorts.

I started this podcast in July 2017 after tiring of not getting hired into local media and hearing nothing but Ohio State updates during the off-season. I started the podcast to prove that local sports exist and that I'm a great broadcaster.

I do my podcast during my down time, in between my gigs. I spend about two to three hours a week actually recording the podcast, but I spend countless hours planning and scripting outlines for future episodes. I saved up money to purchase broadcasting gear and a USB microphone, but I don't really have a budget for my podcast.

This podcast keeps my vocal skills sharp and helps me discover events and teams that won't get coverage. I'd love to get sponsorships for my podcast because I deliver a quality weekly podcast.

I use Audacity to record and edit episodes. I try to find guests who are intertwined in the local sports scene. Lately, I use my Podcast Hotline to record phone calls.

I use social media as best as I can to share my work. I'd love to learn about marketing my podcast to more local ears, or any ears in general. I've struggled with maintaining a large audience, but I do appreciate the folks that check out my craft.
