► Tell us about you and your podcast
With a PhD in Organisational Psychology, and from working with big corporates and government, to small and large businesses,
Josephine is a wellspring of knowledge and experience. On top of that, she owns three enterprises and is a sought after speaker.
Gears, Action, Growth is a podcast for anyone who is interested in leveraging the power of people in their business. We discuss topics on building great teams and business cultures.
► Why & how did you start this podcast?
Josephine has a passion for translating what we know from social science to our lives, both at work and play. Having seen so many companies continue to neglect their business cultures, or create business environments that are toxic, she was motivated to create a space where we can explore how we can apply psychology to business to make business more fit for humans. She started her podcast in early 2020 to share practical information to business owners and HR Directors and partners about how they can change business culture and leadership to create great teams and great cultures.
► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
We release a podcast approximately every two weeks. Finding time is always a challenge but we love doing this podcast and love talking to interesting guests, so we prioritise it. Josephine currently runs three Enterprises and juggles a full career in Organisational Psychology and Entertainment.
► What do you gain from podcasting?
We currently do not have sponsors and are totally self-funded for now. We see lots of benefits in sharing stories that create insights and aha moments for others struggling with creating amazing experiences for themselves and their staff at work. We talk about topics that everyday people struggle with and hope we help by offering some practical ways we can make a positive impact for ourselves and others in the workplace and in our lives in general.
► How does your podcasting process look like?
We use cast to record and publish our podcast. We find guest through our networks and work of mouth. When we interview people we use zoom
► How do you market your show?
Through the social networks of Geared for Growth - twitter, facebook, instagram, Linkedin
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
It doesn't have to be perfect, just start and improve as you go. Ask for lots of feedback along the way.
