Against all odds, and despite opposition from without and within, the walls of Jerusalem were rebuilt. And though it was Nehemiah's passion and devotion to God that had led Israel to this momentous occasion, it would take a community working together to maintain all they had accomplished. After only 52 days of dedicated work, the walls of Jerusalem had been restored. A feat that left no one in doubt that God had blessed this endeavor. But, as Ron Moore explains, sometimes our greatest moments of victory invite the most devastating attacks. From Nehemiah's example, we'll learn how to keep our focus on God when the voices of opposition threaten to pull our attention elsewhere.

Sometimes completing the task God has assigned is only half the battle. The other half is standing up to the critics and other voices of opposition. As Ron Moore continues our study of Nehemiah, we'll see that the higher the walls grew, the louder the critics became. How does the man or woman of God carry on in the face of opposition? More importantly, how can we keep the fears and doubts from taking root in our hearts?
